Halloween Cupcakes 2005

I've spent the better part of the day in the kitchen making and decorating four dozen creepy Halloween cupcakes for my oldest son's school party tomorrow. Here's a picture of a few of them.

Fairytale Pumpkin Stencils

Over at the Huggies website, they've got free printable Cinderella pumpkin stencils that can be customized to fit different sized pumpkins!

Halloween Treat Bags - Plum Party

These Halloween Treat Bags over at Plum Party remind me of the ones given out at Halloween when I was a kid... only this version is twice the size!

Halloween Treat Bags 2005

For my son's class Halloween party this year, we decided to put together some rubberstamped treat bags for all of his classmates. I had just enough cotton drawstring bags/pouches left over from a previous craft project, so we opted to use those. I had a custom rubber stamp made up to personalize all of the bags and then used some random rubber stamps I had. The bags were filled with Bubble Gum Smarties, a bouncing eye ball, an orange furry creature and a chocolate eyeball. I'll also be making a batch of spooky Halloween cupcakes for the party on Monday.

Halloween Site - Minions Web

Just in time for the fast approaching Halloween... check out Minions Web - a website chalk full of all things Halloween! Aside from the links page, be sure to check out the Projects page too!

Cupcake Postage Stamps

I've finally gotten around to making some cupcake postage stamps from a photo of those snowflake cupcakes I made a couple of years ago. I intend to have a wider selection available later on down the road, but considering it took me this long to create this stamp, it may be a good while before the other ones are added.

They're Here! New Postage Stamps

Just a reminder to let all of you know that the cookie postage stamps I blogged about back in April are now available from the USPS!

Fun Food Packaging

If you have some spare web surfing time, you might want to check out this site full of photos of food packaging and product incentives collected over the past few decades.

Peanut Butter Cookie Recipe

A few years ago, on a whim I whipped up a batch of Peanut Butter Cookies from scratch for a New Year's Eve party. The cookies were a hit and I've wanted to make them again, but the recipe seemed to have vanished that night and hasn't been seen since. I've attempted to make more using other recipes, but they just weren't quite the same. The only thing I remember about this particular recipe is that it only used 3, maybe 4 ingredients... with one of them obviously being peanut butter. Does anyone out there happen to have a tried and true recipe for peanut butter cookies that only asks for a few ingredients? If so, care to share it?

Lucky Magazine Kit

Lucky Magazine has put together this really cute gift wrap kit just in time for the ever approaching winter holiday season... At around $45 ($35+$8 S&H + tax) it's available for ordering online. The shipping estimate is 3-7 business days via UPS. I've been seeing those miniature luggage type boxes that the kit comes in popping up everywhere lately.

Witch Finger Sandwiches

A fun way to serve sandwiches around Halloween time... Witch Finger Sandwiches. The fingernails are actually small pieces of pepperoni and the fingers are made from refrigerated breadstick dough.

Cinnamon Roll Bats

Here's a unique Halloween treat idea - Cinnamon Roll Bats!

Vampire Bites

Another cool find over at the Bright Ideas website are these Vampire Bites!

Eyeball Cupcakes

The Bright Ideas website has a recipe for these cool looking eyeball cupcakes.

Martha's New Halloween Section

There's a new Halloween section over at the Martha Stewart website. Some new ideas and some old ones...

Bride of Frankenstein Cake

Here's a neat looking cake made to resemble the Bride of Frankenstein. A loaf pan was used for this and the recipe says that it makes enough cake for 18 servings.

Cookie Mice

Pilsbury has a cool looking Cookie Mice recipe that appears to be relatively simple to assemble.

Kangaroo Bags from Reynolds

The Reynolds Company has come out with a new sealable bag; not just any type of bag, but a Kangaroo Bag. According to the website, the Kangaroo Bag has one larger bag with a smaller bag attached. Another pouch forms in between those two bags. Hmmm...

Spooky Ghost Cupcakes

The Reynolds Company has some fun Ghost Cupcakes I think I may try my hand at this year for Halloween. The ghosts are made of melted white chocolate chips and then stuck into the icing on the cupcake. If you pour the melted chocolate thin enough, the ghosts are semi-transparent!

Halloween Drinks

Cool Bottle Label Ideas from Paper Crafts Mag. Blood Thirst, IV Punch, Swamp Water, Witches Brew... you get the idea.

Screaming Ghost Meringue Pops

I've never worked with meringue before, but these ghost pops look like a fun project to do.

Halloween Containers

In Woman's Day Magazine, they feature these cool halloween containers made out of 1 liter bottles. It'd be a cute idea for a child's classroom Halloween party.
