Back in February for my son's birthday, he wanted to take some birthday party favors in to share with his class. He's in the 5th grade, so we opted for something a bit more quirky than a standard baggie of candy and trinkets. We filled up ice cream cones with random colored animal cookies, circus peanuts, candy dots strips, rub-on tattoos, etc. Sorry for the not so good pictures. I was having trouble with my main camera at the time the photos were taken.

I just returned from a week long vacation to NYC and Ohio and where was my first stop after being dropped off at the hotel? Why, Serendipity of course! I own both cookbooks, but had never had the opportunity to visit the restaurant on previous Big Apple visits. It was everything I expected it to be and more! I ordered the chicken pot pie and of course... the Frozen Hot Chocolate. Delicious! The interior was an eclectic mix of cute and bizarre. Here's a shot of the monster dessert just before we devoured it. More photos and trip highlights soon...
